Testo presented Treloar's with a £10,000 cheque following the completion of its charity challenge.
The motto of the the company's jubilee year is: Testo says thank you.
Burkart Knospe, Testo's chief executive, explained: “We can look back on six decades of dynamism and successful pioneering as a high-tech specialist. Numerous employees, customers and business partners contributed to the long-term growth and success of the company. That is why the 2017 anniversary year is under the motto, Testo says thank you.”
Daniel Auer, managing director of Testo Limited added: “Testo UK would like to add its thanks to all UK customers and distribution partners for their ongoing support and business.”
In celebration, Testo held a gala dinner at the Freiburg Exhibition Centre for 1,300 employees, retirees, international guests, as well as VIPs. A fabulous evening was enjoyed by all who attended, with guests enjoying a sumptuous meal, followed by live bands and performers.
To mark its 60 year anniversary, Testo also took on a worldwide charity challenge with the aim to get fitter as a team and raise money for a great cause.
Testo UK challenged its employees, friends, family, customers and business partners to run, cycle or walk to help achieve a target of 25,000 km and raise money for Treloar's School & College for young people with physical disabilities.
The company successfully reached its target and, in October, Testo employees, Treloar's staff and some of the students who will directly see the benefits of the donation all joined together in celebration. Mr Auer was delighted to donate a cheque for the fantastic sum of £10,000 to Treloar's director of fundraising, Jon Colville.
The money will be used to send Treloar’s Year 9 and 10 school groups on a week-long residential adventure study course called ‘Pushing the Boundaries’. The course is specifically designed for young people with physical disabilities and allows students to experience adventure sports for the very first time, in a safe and supportive environment.
Mr Colville commented: “We are incredibly grateful to everyone at Testo who helped to raise a magnificent £10,000 for the disabled students who live and study at Treloar's.
“Testo is at the cutting edge of its industry and understood the whole point of the Treloar ‘Pushing the Boundaries’ educational camps and were determined to help us. This money will quite literally help transform lives.”
