Tesco eco-store focus of IOR paper

THE Institute of Refrigeration's next evening paper is presented on December 3 by Andy Campbell of Tesco on its supermarket at Manchester's Cheetham Hill.
The store opened in January 2009 and achieved a carbon footprint 70% smaller than an equivalent Tesco store built in 2006.

The technology features used include:
* Carbon dioxide refrigeration system
* Doors on most of the chilled refrigeration display units
* Special film on the glass of freezers

The meeting is being held jointly with the CIBSE ASHRAE group. The presentation starts at 5.45pm and IOR members can download the paper here
