Tecumseh to sell Little Giant

US CONDENSATE pump manufacturer Little Giant is to be sold by its parent Tecumseh to Indiana-based Franklin Electric for $121m.
Franklin Electric is a major manufacturer of submersible electric motors and electronic controls with sales of $400m.

Although mainly a manufacturer of air conditioning and refrigeration compressors, Tecumseh's pump sales are said to have accounted for 7% of its $1.85bn turnover last year, a year when Tecumseh recorded an overall loss of $175m.
In addition to condensate pumps, Little Giant also manufactures sewage pumps, swimming pool, fish tank and garden fountain pumps.
