Talking about trigeneration

NEWCASTLE University is to establish a dedicated combined heat and power, trigeneration and energy storage research and demonstration facility.
The new £1.6m project is funded by the EU and The Sir Joseph Swan Institute for Energy Research (SWAN) at Newcastle University.

A range of new equipment will be installed at the SWAN Thermal Energy laboratory at the university and at the SWAN trigeneration facility at the new and renewable energy centre at Blyth.

The facilities will be used to demonstrate to regional SMEs a range of different energy technologies, both individually and also integrated with each other.  There will also be scope for testing systems, components and fuel types at different scales and under a variety of conditions.
