SWSWRS relaunches Breakfast Briefings

The South West and South Wales Refrigeration Society (SWSWRS) had its first Breakfast Briefing in almost ten years today at Bath College.

The event was supported by Beijer Ref, Samsung and MHI and saw over 30 RACHP professionals attending.

Speakers covered a wide variety of topics. Chris George of Bath College covered the facilities and programmes that the College had to offer and spoke of the challenges that apprenticeship faced. Of particular note was the fact that in the RACHP sector, the numbers of people enquiring after apprenticeships are far outstripping the number companies prepared to take apprentices on.

Alan Harvey of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) discussed the Q-Ton CO2 Commercial Solution in technical detail while Dave Richards of Climalife (IDS Refrigeration) gave an update on refrigerants.

Joe Raftery of Samsung Climate Solutions introduced new high temperature heat pumps. Coming from a plumbing/heating background himself, Mr Raftery urged the audience to become a part of the domestic heat pump conversation as there are not enough installers to meet climate goals.

Damian Wiszniewski said that there would be more Breakfast Briefings and social events to come.
