CAPITAL Cooling has launched its Mars range of integral, refrigerated multi-deck cabinets.
In tests, says the company, the Mars range which uses single phase, high performance, horizontal scroll compressor technology, has been proven to make considerable energy savings compared with other integral multi-deck cases. The Mars 2.6m model, for example, is said to use up to 50% less energy than a similarly merchandised cabinet, incorporating conventional hermetic compressors.
Following independent tests at Bristol University’s Food Refrigeration and Process Engineering Research Centre, the Mars range has been accredited to the ECA scheme.
The Mars cabinets are currently the only multi-decks, using horizontally configured scroll compressors, to be approved by the ECA scheme, says the company. They have been engineered for a longer life-cycle, and disposal and recycling of scrapped cases has been addressed.
The range includes cabinets with nominal lengths of 1m, 1.35m, 2m and 2.6m, with each cabinet length available with a standard depth of 924mm or a narrow depth of 770mm. Each of the eight models requires only a 13A power supply.
A low front, glazed end walls, canopy lighting and pillar lighting maximise visibility of merchandise. The large capacity is particularly suitable for high traffic areas in supermarkets and convenience stores. With an operating temperature of -1°C to +5°C, the Mars range is supplied with a grey paint finish, contrasting colour bump rail and white interior. Models with a stainless steel finish are also available.
Other features include digital electronic controls for accurate set-up and temperature control, night blind for additional energy savings during non-trading hours, digital temperature display and EPOS ticket strips.
