Stephen Gill Associates wins Asia-Pacific Stevie Award

Stephen Gill Associates are multi-award winning Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Consultants formed by Steve Gill in Derby, UK, in 2003.

Stephen Gill Associates has been named the winner of a Silver Stevie Award in the New Business Service of the Year category at the first annual Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards.

The Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards is the first business awards programme to recognise achievement in business in all 22 nations of the Asia-Pacific region.

It is the newest of the Stevie Awards schemes, which are widely considered to be the world's premier business awards, conferring recognition for achievement in the workplace in programmes such as The International Business Awards for more than a decade.

Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word for “crowned,” the awards will be presented to winners at a gala banquet at the Lotte Hotel in Seoul, South Korea on 30 May.

More than 300 nominations from organisations across the Asia-Pacific region were considered this year in 18 categories including Customer Service Leader of the Year, Exporter of the Year, Fastest-Growing Company of the Year, and Woman of the Year, among others.

Steve Gill said: “Winning such a prestigious business award is a reflection of the fantastically successful start we have had in Asia-Pacific.

“The region is very dynamic with a fast developing cold-chain to meet shifting demographics. This in turn is placing heavy demand upon the energy supply.

“Energy Efficient production and distribution of hygienically safe food requires large refrigeration systems and specialist knowledge. With our experience gained in Europe now combined with our local knowledge we are well positioned to advise end-user clients of the energy efficient solutions available to them.”

He continued: “We have successfully secured several significant food and beverage production facility projects across the region as well as a major one in the oil and gas segment.

“Health and Safety is another key growth area for us with our ammonia refrigerant safety audit programme proving to be extremely popular. We are already having to expand to meet the demand in several Asian countries.”

The Gold, Silver and Bronze Stevie Award winners were chosen by more than 50 executives around the world who participated in first-round judging during the week beginning the 14th of April. A second international panel of judges will choose five Grand Stevie winners from among the Gold winners in early May.  The Grand Stevie winners will be announced in Seoul on 30 May.

Michael Gallagher, president and founder of the Stevie Awards, said: “We are delighted that the Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards have debuted with such a stellar group of winners. We look forward to celebrating the winners and presenting them their awards at the gala banquet in Seoul on 30 May.”
