It is now eight years since the F-gas regulations came into effect in the UK, with the bulk of the companies who are registered and compliant to work in the SRACHP sector having full certification by 2011.

With these certificates having a three year validity period, the bulk of the industry sector has to renew its certification this year. The REFCOM administration team is working hard to process renewals for registered members as quickly as possible, helping them stay compliant.
Without a valid F-gas certificate:
- Supplies of gas and equipment could be stopped by your wholesalers.
- Your registration with your own clients as an approved installer or service provider could be affected.
- Prosecution by the authorities could occur if they carry out an inspection of one of your clients and find that your own company was not complying with the law at the time of work being carried out.
REFCOM recommends that the renewals process is carried out as soon as possible, and you will be sent regular reminders via email containing an easy access link to their renewal system. If you haven’t received yours, it may be worth checking your spam folder. Renewing ahead of the expiry date doesn’t lose you time either; the new certificate will commence from the date the old one expires.
