IF your colleague didn't win it last year, don't fret, for the coolest competition in the acr world -SkillFRIDGE 2009- is gearing up to find this year's worthy young talent.

This practical skills competition is open to any refrigeration and air-conditioning engineer who holds an RAC N/SVQ L2 by September 2007 and is competent in refrigerant handling and pipework brazing.

If you think you have a rising young star amongst your ranks, nominate them for the SkillFRIDGE 2009 competition.

Nominators can refer to a talent-spotting checklist to narrow down potential candidates. All entry forms must be returned to SummitSkills by March 31, 2009.

The competition's UK-wide semi-final, organised by SummitSkills, takes place in either April or May 2009. At the semi-finals, competitors will carry out practical tests based on real work scenarios, to test their skills. The highest scoring competitors from the semi-finals will go on to try to freeze out the competition at the UK final, scheduled to be held this summer.

The SkillFRIDGE 2009 winner will get the chance to compete against the world's best refrigeration & air conditioning engineers in the WorldSkills 2011 competition in London.
