SMARTCOOL Systems Inc, manufacturer of energy saving controls for refrigeration and air conditioning systems, is set to acquire its Hampshire-based UK distributor Smartcool Systems UK Ltd.
Smartcool is best known for its the Energy Saving Module (ESM) and ECO3 products used extensively in supermarkets, coldstores and by telecom companies, hospitals and hotels worldwide.

In the UK, Smartcool's ESM, which uses compressor optimisation technology to reduce the energy consumption of the refrigeration systems, has played a major part in Sainsbury's efforts to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions.

The technology has been used in a total of 104 Sainsbury's locations to date.
