On 22 October, the SIRACH Network will meet to explore the topic of heating and cooling innovation in commercial applications.
The event will include a number of short presentations, a networking session and a tour of an innovative supermarket in Thurmaston, Leicestershire. The meeting presentations will take place at the Abbey Pumping Station, part of Leicester's Museum of Science and Technology, displaying Leicester's industrial, technological and scientific heritage. Situated adjacent to the National Space Centre, a visit to the two sites tells the story of over 200 years of science and technology, from the early days of steam and industry, to space exploration of today.
The day will open with a presentation from Bob Arthur of Frigesco analysing supermarket trends and explaining the future innovations and changes that the sector can expect. Nick Owen of Dearman Transport will explain the innovative Dearman Engine. Alban Leiper of Geoscart will be discussing refrigeration heat recovery and delegates will also hear from Adrian Friday of Lancaster University who will be giving insights into sustainable food shopping and explaining the relationship between the sustainably minded shopper and their supermarket.
