Search continues for source of Welsh legionnaire's disease outbreak

HEALTH officials are searching for the source of a legionnaire's disease outbreak following a number of confirmed cases centred around the Heads of the Valleys corridor in South Wales.
Twelve cases have so far been linked to the outbreak and all required hospital treatment.  A further two possible cases are still under investigation. One of the possible cases under investigation, a 64-year-old female, died in hospital on 6 September.

The BBC has quoted Dr Brendan Mason, the consultant epidemiologist for Public Health Wales, as confirming that health officials were now looking at cooling towers and industrial areas in the Heads of the Valleys corridor.
