Sainsbury’s sees increase in fourth quarter sales

Sainsbury’s has released its fourth quarter trading statement for the nine weeks to 12 March, showing a 1.2% increase in total retail sales.

Meanwhile, like-for-like sales were up by 0.1%.

 

Chief executive Mike Coupe said: “We have traded well this year and are making excellent progress implementing our strategy. The market will remain competitive but we are confident that we will continue to outperform our major peers.”
