Register for F-gas – even if paperwork isn't complete

WITH just a week to go to the F-gas company registration deadline, ACRIB has repeated calls for companies (including sole traders) to ensure that they sign up in time.

'If circumstances mean this is not possible,' says ACRIB, 'it is recommended that companies make all reasonable efforts to get a company certificate and keep a record of these efforts so that they will be able to demonstrate that they have taken action.'

ACRIB also points out that REFCOM is still registering companies on their system, even if those companies do not have all of the necessary information to hand, although they will not be able to issue certificates until all the details are obtained.

'The 4th July is an important date but this should not deter companies from registering - later is better than not at all,' says ACRIB.

ACRIB also repeats the point that after July 4 it will be illegal to carry out installation or maintenance work on acr equipment containing HFCs without a company certificate.

Businesses who have not yet registered should visit the REFCOM website which has full details of the application procedure at www.refcom.org.uk. Additional help and assistance can be found on the ACRIB website: www.acrib.org.uk.
