Qvantum appoints Nilsson as Chairperson of the Board

Sweden-based energy-tech manufacturer Qvantum Industries has appointed industrial heavyweight Peter Nilsson as Chairperson of its Board of Directors, following the company’s Annual General Meeting on 8 June.

The move comes as Qvantum accelerates its European expansion, scales production and builds on a year of major milestones. The business has secured commercial breakthroughs in the multi-family housing sector across several European markets, launched its QG heat pump, and begun production at its newly acquired Hungarian factory, formerly operated by Electrolux. Qvantum also recently won the BloombergNEF Pioneers Award 2026 in the ‘Flattening the Duck Curve’ category, recognising its contribution to grid-stabilising energy technologies.

Nilsson brings extensive experience in large-scale European manufacturing and industrial transformation. His career includes more than two decades as Senior Industrial Advisor to private equity firm EQT, as well as leading the turnaround of Sanitec as CEO. He has also chaired companies including Securitas Direct, Duni and Lindab.

Qvantum CEO Fredrik Rosenqvist said Nilsson’s background aligns with the company’s next phase of growth, as it strengthens production capacity in Åstorp, Sweden, and Nyíregyháza, Hungary. “We look forward to having Peter onboard; his experience in scaling up industrial development and production, as well as navigating complex European markets, will be a valuable contribution to Qvantum and the Board of Directors. I would also like to express my greatest thanks to Mats Leifland, who has led the Board over a critical period of growth, and we have all appreciated his support and dedication,” he said.

Nilsson said he was impressed by Qvantum’s ambition to reshape Europe’s energy systems. “From our very first conversation, I was struck by the scope of Qvantum's work; it is not only about state-of-the-art heat pumps for homes, but also about taking an active part in the energy system. The ambition to disrupt, digitise and optimise energy systems across Europe is a huge opportunity, and Qvantum is well placed to take a leading position in the market,” he said.

The Board now includes Karin Jarl Månsson, former CEO of E.ON Värme Sverige AB and E.ON Försäljning Sverige AB; Mats Rahmström, former CEO of Atlas Copco; Sandra Trittin, an energy-transition and digitalisation specialist; and Per Colleen of TomEnterprise. Co-opted members and investors Thomas von Koch (TomEnterprise) and Willem Huiderkoper (IMAS Foundation) also continue to support the Board.
