AIR-CONDITIONING engineers can connect with customers surfing the net for quotes with a new website launching this month.
AC engineers can register at quote.co.uk and create details about their areas of expertise for customers to review. Customers seeking ac services in a local area can then request a quote to firms by filling in one form. The service is free to customers and the site will charge ac providers 50p per quote request.
Quote.co.uk plans to go online by January 11 2008. Staff behind quote.co.uk have 100,000 businesses in total registered and 30 air conditioning specialists already registered.
Quote.co.uk is Steve Walsh's third internet venture, following success with easycover.com and laterooms.com. In 1996 Steve and his brother Paul, invested in 25,000 domain names including quote.co.uk for £5 each and began creating web businesses. The HVAC industry is just one of many markets which quote.co.uk is working to tap into.
With their contact details included online, engineers can receive direct calls from customers, quote requests by e-mail or sms text directly to a mobile. With a pitch before pay offer, firms pay the charge after they've received job and customer contact details allowing them to pitch to the customer.
Steve Walsh said: 'All ac engineers know that advertising in
telephone directories is expensive and their use is declining as customers switch to looking online. Yet internet search engines are also very expensive when you consider they charge pounds simply for clicking a link to a company web site. This means that many firms are finding it increasingly hard and costly to pro-actively generate new business enquiries'.
Easycover.com was the first site to offer multiple insurance quotes to compare from one form. Laterooms.com enables hotels to sell late availability rooms to customers at discounted rates. The site was sold on to First Choice Holidays in 2006 for £110m.
