Places still available at Transforming Technologies Conference

DELEGATE places are still available at the Transforming Technologies Conference, an event that should not be missed by anyone in the air conditioning and refrigeration industries concerned with rising energy prices and the need to reduce carbon footprints.

The conference, taking place in London on March 9 at the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, is being chaired by the president of the International Institute of Refrigeration Didier Coulomb, who will introduce a full day of thought-provoking papers.

Top speakers from across the acr industry have been assembled for what will be an extremely important event. DuPont's Dr Frank Rinne and Honeywell's Dr Nacer Achaichia will both be revealing details of the very latest test results of their new low GWP HFO-based refrigerant blends and their applications in stationary systems. The presence of representatives of such knowledgeable representatives from the two top refrigerant producers is a major coup for the conference organisers.

Compressors being the crucial component in any acr system, Enrico Fraccari of Emerson will be talking on the efficiency benefits of variable-speed, vapour-injection technology. Not to be outdone, Georg Schoeninger of Turbocor will be revealing the latest developments in the company's ground-breaking oil-less compressor technology.

Data centres can be a large consumer of electricity and Airedale will be explaining how utilising some new technologies can drastically reduce operating costs.

Other papers will explain ways of checking system performance and improving energy efficiency and the organisers are especially pleased to welcome Laurie Reynolds, engineering standards manager at Virgin Media who will take inspiration from Darwin in describing the evolution of the strategy employed by his company for its diverse air conditioning estate

The reduced delegate rate of £349+vat has been extended to 31 January. The speaker line-up and seminar topics and booking details are available at: www.acr-news.com/conference
