Parker buys Kenmore as expansion continues

US MANUFACTURER Parker Hannifin continues on the
expansion trail with the acquisition of Kenmore
International from Lai Berg Holding A/S of Norway.
This latest acquisition follows the purchase of German
industrial valve manufacturer Herl in August and the
take-over of US manufacturer Sporlan Valve last year.
Kenmore's worldwide business which
includes Kenmore KMP Ltd in Crook, Co Durham, and
Virginia KMP in Brampton, South Yorkshire, achieved
sales of approximately $110m in 2004.
As well as the UK, Kenmore operates facilities
in Turkey, China, India and the US. employing more
than 1,000 people in the design, manufacture domestic
and commercial refrigeration components. Parker
Hannifin is said to be particularly interested in
Kenmore's condenser and evaporator design
capabilities.
