Office temperatures still a source of staff complaints

A NEW study into workplace temperatures has revealed how poor air conditioning maintenance and control is having an effect on productivity, employee wellbeing and staff morale.
According to research among 1,125 workers carried out on behalf of air conditioning firm Ergro, 20% claimed that in hot weather the air conditioning was uncomfortably cold and made them less productive. This response was most common amongst respondents in London and public sector workers (38% and 27% respectively).
At the same time, a third of respondents (31%) found that temperature were too high during cold weather.
More than a third (37%) said that air conditioning, heating, water and the overall environment of their workplace were regular reasons for complaint. Again, public sector workers were more likely than private sector workers to agree (47% compared with 33%).
