OCEANAIR Distribution is running carbon dioxide technology training courses, teaching contractors how to install Sanyo's ECO CO2 heat pump system and Martin Hook is heading up the training.
This one-day course highlights the operating principles of the carbon dioxide cycle, and how it differs from conventional refrigerant and gas-fired systems. It highlights the performance at lower ambients and gives installers practical experience of the systems in use.
Martin Hook is Oceanair's heat product manager. Richard Tyson, Oceanair managing director, said: 'We are delighted to have Martin's expertise available to us. Given his experience and wide industry background, it is an endorsement that will command respect among the trade.'
Since Sanyo's ECO CO2 heat pump-based heating system was launched earlier this year, interest in the technology has taken off says Oceanair Distribution. It says it has to date received several hundred enquiries that are now translating into orders.
'In the age of expensive energy, and the need to cut carbon emissions, we believe it's a technology whose time has come. We are supporting our customers right down the line in adopting it,' said Richard Tyson.
So far Oceanair has trained more than 30 registered installers in CO2 technology, and with a number of courses scheduled to happen over the next few weeks the figure is set to rise to above 50.
The next courses take place on May 12, May 14, June 9 and June 11.
