New service available from FSW

All 24 FSW Branches are now 'Refcom-approved Digital Scales Calibration Check Centres', where engineers can bring in their digital scales and FSW staff will carry out a calibration check to ensure the scales meet with Refcom’s audit requirements.

FSW is working in conjunction with Refcom to provide digital scales calibration checks for contractors.

Working in a joint venture with Refcom, FSW does not calibrate or re-calibrate scales; it simply offers a check to confirm if they are within the tolerances set out by Refcom to comply with its audit criteria.

Each FSW branch stocks a set of three calibrated weights - 1kg, 5kg and 20kg. Each branch has own its own certificate of calibration for the weights.

After the calibration check, FSW will issue a copy of the calibration check certificate via email as a record for the customer to use for Refcom audit requirements.

The service is free and open to any company, even if it does not have an account with FSW.

Normally, contractors are expected to buy their own set of calibrated weights so they can carry out digital scales self-certification. However, with FSW having invested in 24 sets of calibrated and certified scales and offering this service free across the UK, it is now much easier for a contractor to comply with Refcom’s annual audit requirements.
