New owners reveal ambitions to expand ACR Show in 2014

THE new owners of the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Show (ACR Show) have revealed ambitious plans to invest in and expand the event.
New owners reveal ambitions to expand ACR Show in 2014
The news follows the purchase of Faversham House Group's building services division by Datateam Media and Communications Group Ltd (Datateam), which publishes amongst others the well-known Building Services and Environmental Engineer (BSEE), Electrical Engineering and Energy Management magazines.

The ACR Show now joins ACR News and sister title H&V Review alongside these publications as part of the successful and growing Datateam stable.

Parvez Kayani, Datateam's managing director, said: 'We are delighted to have acquired the ACR Show as part of the agreement with Faversham House. As the only national exhibition serving the UK air conditioning and refrigeration industry, we believe it has huge potential and we are very ambitious to expand the event.

'The team behind it is second to none in the market, and I look forward to working with it to make the show even more successful.'

Jan Thorpe, event director for the show, said: 'I am hugely excited by the opportunity the move offers. The ACR team did a great job in identifying the opportunity and launching the show. Now, with the move to Datateam, we will be retaining this experienced team and have the investment and backing we need to take it to the next level.'

She added: 'Datateam is a successful media business with ambitions to develop its exhibitions division. It provides an excellent fit for both the magazines and the show.'

The exhibition sales team is being expanded with the appointment of Karena Cooper as sales executive, who will work alongside Jan Thorpe and Louis Bryant in the run-up to the February 2014 event.

The Institute of Refrigeration has confirmed its full backing for the show, with a significant stand presence and an IOR presentation zone on the floor of the exhibition to address topical, technical and professional subjects.

The exhibition also has the backing of the industry's key trade associations, including contractors' organisation B&ES Association, and manufacturers' groups HEVAC and the British Refrigeration Association.

With just under a year to go, the organisers report that bookings from exhibitors are flowing in.

Confirmed exhibitors include well-known companies such as AFR Refrigeration, A-Gas, AHT, Broughton, Charles Austen Pumps, Comptec, CPS Products, GEA Searle, Dean & Wood, Dupont, Harp International/Mexichem, Honeywell, Gram, JAVAC, Jumo, Lordan, Mastercool, Maxkold, Primalec, Teknic Refrigeration, UR Refrigeration Wholesale.
