Chairing the AGM, IOR President Graeme Fox FInstR thanked all four candidates who stood for election to the Board of Trustees for their willingness to volunteer to serve on the Board. He confirmed that all who had stood would be encouraged to take part in IOR activities and committees. He also thanked Board Members whose term has now come to an end, John Skelton FInstR and Nick Rivers MInstR for their contribution and support.
The AGM was also the opportunity to confirm the appointment of Lisa-Jayne Cook FInstR as IOR’s President-Elect. She will formally step into the role of President when Graeme Fox’s term concludes in November 2024. John Skelton FInstR was appointed as Treasurer taking over from Nick Rivers.
Talking about Cook’s appointment, Graeme Fox said: “Having worked closely with Lisa-Jayne for a few years now I can honestly say I’ve worked with few people with such drive, passion and commitment to the wider industry and in particular our Institute. The time she gives is a testament to her commitment to this new role she is taking on and I am confident our Institute will go from strength to strength in the coming years in safe hands.”
Lisa Jayne Cook added: “I'm thrilled that members have placed their trust in me with this significant responsibility. I look forward to gaining a deeper understanding of the role alongside Graeme and supporting our members in tackling the challenges our industry is currently facing, such as environmental, training, and inclusion issues.”
