New ASHRAE UK section to feature at The ACR Show

The first ever ASHRAE section in the UK was formed late last year, with Steve Gill as president and Edward Murphy, president-elect. The ASHRAE UK-Midlands section is located in Central England covering the counties of Cambridgeshire, Yorkshire, Northamptonshire, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Bedfordshire, Lincolnshire, Warwickshire, Staffordshire, West Midlands and Rutland.

The ACR Show is delighted to announce that Mick Holland of the ASHRAE UK - Midlands section will address visitors in the Air Conditioning & Heat Pump Theatre tomorrow. Mick is technical director for Ability Projects based in Poole Dorset. Having worked in the same industry for nearly 30 years, he has developed, designed and seen the demise of many types HVAC systems.

Mick will be speaking about ‘The relative energy efficiencies of Active Chilled Beams and Fan Coil Unit systems’. With energy usage top of the agenda, this presentation will report the results of an independent study carried out using the TAS EDSL software to compare both Fan Coil Units and Active Chilled Beam systems.

The ACR Show will see 100+ companies exhibiting top brand products, offering live demonstrations and giving advice on affordable and efficient solutions. From Fujitsu Air Conditioners to Airflow Developments, HygroMatik to Johnson Controls, Scandia Refrigeration to Blondelle, Glacier Coldrooms and more, visitors will be spoilt for choice.

Ian Carroll, sales & marketing director, Fujitsu Air Conditioners, said: “The ACR Show always provides good opportunity to meet with our distributors and is a great platform for the industry as a whole.  This year we will be officially launching a variety of new products, including our 10kW Wall Mounted Split System, which is already receiving positive reviews within the industry.”

Leading experts will also share their knowledge and advice in each of the three main seminar theatres: the Air Conditioning & Heat Pump Theatre sponsored by GREE; the Refrigeration & Cooling Theatre, sponsored by Opteon Refrigerants from Chemours and the Training & Careers Theatre, sponsored by Toshiba Carrier.

A host of other features has been added to the 2016 event to enhance the visitor experience, including free IOR training sessions; the national SkillFRIDGE competition and a new business lounge with Wi-Fi. The new, official show app meanwhile, is designed to help visitors maximise their time at the show

The decision to include H&V companies has won the backing of all the leading trade associations, including the Institute of Refrigeration (IOR), Federation of Environmental Trade Associations (FETA), Refcom, the Building and Engineering Services Association (BESA), British Frozen Food Federation (BFFF), Association of European Component Manufacturers (ASERCOM) and the European Heat Pump Association (EHPA).
