NEMEX Preview: A new force at NEMEX

Taking place at the NEC in Birmingham from 20-22 May, NEMEX is the UK’s largest and longest-running exhibition and networking event for the energy and renewables industries. It forms part of Sustainabilitylive, the UK’s leading event for excellence and innovation in the water, environment, energy and land sectors.
NEMEX Preview: A new force at NEMEX
ORGANISED by the Faversham House Group, publisher of ACR News and HVR, this year’s NEMEX has the support of ten principal industry bodies: the Energy Services and Technology Association (ESTA); the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers; the National Energy Foundation; the Ground Source Heat Pump Association; the Environment Agency; the Source Testing Association; the Energy Efficiency Accreditation Scheme; Energy in Buildings & Industry; the Renewable Energy Association and the Energy Institute.

Speaking about ESTA’s involvement in NEMEX, Alan Aldridge, executive director, says: “NEMEX provides a significant opportunity to meet energy, facilities and environmental managers needing help to unravel and plan for the raft of climate change legislation. Visitors looking for advice on building regulations, energy certificates, the Carbon Reduction Commitment and smart meters should visit the ESTA stand.”

Seminar programme

Under the leadership of the NEMEX Steering Group, NEMEX 2008 encompasses a high-level conference and seminar programme. Day one will focus on: Now and the future – looking at where we are and where we want to be.

Among the speakers is Peter Ainsworth MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, returning for a second year to deliver a keynote speech: Climate change – year on year. HSBC and White Young Green will follow with their presentation: Energy legacy of corporate real estate.

Days two and three will focus on technologies for a sustainable environment and European standards. Taking to the podium Cal Bailey, business planning and development director at NG Bailey, will discuss Sustainable buildings. Other speakers include representatives from the Carbon Trust, NEF, Semplice and the Energy Institute. Many of the seminars, master classes and conferences will provide delegates with CPD points.

Environmental and energy awards

The Environment and Energy Awards 2008, sponsored by Enersol, are set to be a highlight of Sustainabilitylive. The awards will be showcased and presented at a black-tie dinner on Tuesday 20 May. Focusing on celebrating excellence and achievement, the awards will recognise new and innovative technologies, as well as excellence in management and performance.

NEMEX will continue to be co-located with ET and ES – the Environmental Technology and Environmental Services Exhibitions, BEX – Brownfield Expo, and IWEX – the International Water and Effluent Exhibition. Sustainabilitylive! offers the perfect platform to network face-to-face with colleagues, customers, clients and peers to increase market awareness and developments.
