Mitsubishi Electric gets Shanghai's vote

SHANGHAI consumers have voted Mitsubishi Electric the best air conditioning brand.
In a survey produced by the city's quality watchdog, the Shanghai Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision, more than 5,510 consumers rated air conditioner brands on quality, installation, repair and after-sales service.

Mitsubishi was followed at the top by Chinese manufacturer Gree Electronics and Japan's Panasonic. Chinese manufacturer Changhong received the most complaints.

Consumers' most common complaint was linked to after-sales service. About 33% of those polled said their air conditioners broke down repeatedly. The survey also revealed that repair workers were not properly skilled.
