Mitsubishi announces 5% price rise

AIR-CONDITIOINING manufacturer Mitsubishi Electric is raising the price of its City Multi VRF equipment by between 3-5% to cope with the global rise in the cost of manufacturing.
The new prices come into effect on October 1.

Mitsubishi is one of many firms in the industry raising prices in light of tough market conditions.

'Everyone is aware of the dramatic rises in raw materials and fuel over the last 12 months which has resulted in substantial increases in our manufacturing costs,' said Deane Flint, divisional sales & marketing director for the company.

'Up to now, we have been able to absorb these costs through efficiency improvements but we've reached the point where we now have to pass some of the increases on to the market'.

'What we are guaranteeing though is that these increases will not exceed 5% across our VRF range,' he added.
