Midea becomes Official Renewables Partner of Reading FC

Midea Cooling & Midea is one of the world’s fastest growing companies– ranked number 183 by Forbes Global in 2021 – and from its worldwide factories has an annual global output of HVAC products of over 52 million systems. Midea has a strong line up of renewable technology products such as air-to-water heat pumps, highly efficient air conditioning systems, and heat recovery ventilation. Heating (UK & Ireland) has announced the company will be the ‘Official Renewables Partner’ of Reading FC for the 2022-23 season.

The company has achieved over 40 design awards including reddot, iF, and the Good Design Awards, Midea also became the first manufacturer to receive the Eco-Friendly Blue Angel certification from the German environment agency after launching the world’s first eco-friendly air conditioner.

Midea attaches great importance to investment in green technologies, energy conservation and environmental protection and will prove a great match for Reading Football Club; this season they are helping to start a conversation about climate change and have pledged to become more environmentally conscious in making cost-effective steps, where they possibly can, to reduce their carbon footprint in collaboration with the University of Reading.

Midea Cooling & Heating (UK & Ireland) will use the Select Car Leasing Stadium’s facilities to engage with its staff and showcase its innovative new products to its client-base in the south of England.

Head of commercial at Reading Football Club, Tim Kilpatrick, said: “I am very pleased to welcome a global brand of the stature of Midea to Reading Football Club. We will be pleased to help Midea use our proximity to the capital and the south of the country to better connect with its employees and customers and we hope an innovative organisation like Midea will also help us take positive steps forward in tackling actions within our new Environmental Sustainability strategy.”

Managing director at Midea Cooling & Heating (UK & Ireland), Steve Robinson said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Reading Football Club who support our green credentials and the importance we place on investing in renewable technologies. In line with Midea’s 'Game Changing Cooling & Heating’ branding, Reading FC will be the home of our new training academy which will provide market leading training facilities in the south of the country. This is part of our bigger overall plan to provide Midea training academies which are easily accessible to HVAC engineers throughout the UK. This is another unique game changing step for Midea in the UK, helping even more of our customers stay up to date with our latest renewable energy products.”
