MHIAE awarded Frost & Sullivan’s 2023 European Company of the Year

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Air-Conditioning Europe (MHIAE), a division of MHI Group, has been recognised for its innovative and energy-efficient commercial heat pumps, receiving Frost & Sullivan’s 2023 European Company of the Year Award.

Following research into the commercial heat pump market, Frost & Sullivan has named MHIAE as this year's industry leader, who has demonstrated excellence in growth strategy, visionary innovation, market-leading performance, and unmatched customer care.

With sustainable cooling and heating solutions that encourage a carbon-neutral world, MHIAE focuses on creating cutting-edge technology to ensure optimum performance and cost-effective solutions for its customers. Its optimised air-to-water heat pumps, which are up to five times more energy-efficient than existing natural gas boilers, lead the way in low-carbon energy solutions within the European market.

Neha Tatikota, Industry Analyst, Energy & Environment at Frost & Sullivan, applauds MHIAE commenting: “MHIAE’s spectrum of high-efficiency systems for cooling and heating air and water for residential, commercial, and industrial applications—including air-to-water heat pumps a vital part of the company’s offering. More specifically, it provides an impressive range of air-to-water heat pumps to meet Europe’s growing demand for low-carbon, energy-efficient, and cost-effective water heating solutions from the domestic, commercial, and industrial sectors.”

In Europe's transition to sustainable heating, heat pumps have become desirable to many businesses as an environmentally friendly, low-carbon alternative to natural gas-based heating. By providing sustainable solutions for both the energy supply and demand sides, MHIAE demonstrates its goal of decarbonising operations by 2040 (including emissions from sold products).

An example of innovation and environmental care is MHIAE’s Q-ton system, which uses carbon dioxide, a natural refrigerant with ultra-low global warming potential, to produce sanitary hot water at temperatures up to 90 °C at the industry’s highest coefficient of performance. As a result, the system reduces annual running costs by 76% and 46% compared to electric heaters and gas boilers, lowering carbon emissions and future-proofing the industry.

This system reflects MHIAE's drive for change and dedication to providing custom solutions adapted to specific customer needs. Continually taking onboard feedback from its customers, MHIAE seeks ways to deliver sustainable, efficient, and affordable solutions that have a positive impact on customers all over Europe.

With sustainability and creativity sitting at the heart of the company, MHIAE continues to positively impact customers and communities across Europe, by developing industry-leading cooling and heating solutions that increase energy efficiency while reducing carbon emissions.
