MEPS call for rapid phase-down of HFCs

MEPS have today voted for a revision of the F-gas regulations and called for a rapid phase-down of the production and consumption of HFCs.
The resolution drafted by Austrian MEP Richard Seeber and Theodoros Skylakakis of Greece was approved by 578 votes to 51 against with 22 abstentions.

The MEPs claimed that the F-Gas Regulation had fallen far short of expectations and urged the Commission to make proposals for a rapid phase-down of the production and consumption of HFCs. The resolution also called for an acceleration of the phase-out of HCFCs.
