Air filtration specialist MANN+HUMMEL VOKES AIR has been approved as a training provider by the CIBSE (the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers) as part of the organisation’s Continuing Professional Development (CPD) scheme.
Members successfully completing the course are awarded certification and credits towards their CPD requirement.
The MANN+HUMMEL VOKES AIR tutorials are based on the latest thinking in HVAC air filtration. Delegates will learn about outcome-based filtration, which examines factors such as present and future environmental conditions and air delivery system configuration in order to achieve a desired air quality.
The company’s Simon Hughes said: “Air filtration is no longer about selecting a filter depending on what has been bought before or for the protection of HVAC equipment. With the role filters play in protecting building occupants, selecting a product that provides sufficient defence is paramount.”
Another topic to be explored in the course is the importance of air filters in reducing energy consumption, taking into account future industry developments. “At the same time, it is important not to over-specify and select a filter with high energy consumption. The course will provide CIBSE members with the tools to select a filter configuration that delivers the right air quality at the lowest possible energy demand.”
Mr Hughes added: “This will be particularly important given the new ISO standard for air filter classification that is currently under development.”
