Man arrested over ac thefts

A man has been arrested in Malvern and questioned by detectives about a series of thefts of air conditioning units. The man was stopped by police officers as he loaded a white Peugeot Boxer panel van. He was in the possession of items that were believed to be stolen and arrested.
He was also questioned about six similar cases in the area in recent weeks where air air conditioning unit have been stolen from Tenbury Swimming Pool, Malvern Splash Leisure Pool (twice), and a Wilkinson's store, Chase School and Nat West Bank, all in Malvern.

Inspector Jane Francis, who leads local policing in Malvern Hills, said: 'This series of air conditioner thefts has been a serious setback for the properties affected, not just because of the cost to replace them but it affected their ability to operate.'
