Looking for the hot topics in refrigeration and air conditioning

UK: The organisers of the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Show (ACR Show) have launched a call for papers for the high profile seminar programme being held alongside the show, which takes place at the NEC 11-13 February 2014.
Looking for the hot topics in refrigeration and air conditioning
With its cutting edge topics and well-informed speakers, last year's event attracted some of the biggest names in the UK food retail and catering industry, and drew an excellent attendance from the refrigeration and air conditioning trade.

The next event will include two parallel seminar programmes, addressing topical business and technical issues. The organisers are inviting submissions for papers from both end users and the industry, with a deadline of Friday 6th September.

For the technical programme, they are particularly interested in papers covering:
· advances in cooling technology;
· applications of ultra-efficient heat pumps;
· developments in cutting energy use;
· latest developments in compressors;
· new green refrigerants;
· harnessing phase-change materials;
· innovative approaches to controlling noise;
· how to eliminate refrigerant leaks;
· use of remote monitoring;
· developments in cooling for data centres.

Alongside the technical programme will be a series of high profile business seminars, highlighting how companies can improve profitability, manage risk and exploit new commercial opportunities coming onstream.
The organisers are particularly interested in submissions on the following:

· new legislation impacting end users and the industry;
· pooling buying power to improve competiveness;
· getting the best out of your refrigeration contractor;
· latest advances in vehicle tracking for service operations;
· managing late payment;
· harnessing the power of the web;
· implementing training and apprenticeship schemes;
· raising customer service standards;
· incentive and loyalty programmes.

Alongside the seminar programme will be a Practical Demonstration Zone, with hands-on presentations of the latest technology and servicing techniques. The Institute of Refrigeration will also host an IOR Forum on the floor of the exhibition, addressing topical, technical and professional subjects.
The ACR Show is the cooling industry's only national exhibition and has the backing of key trade associations, including contractors' organisation B&ES Association, and manufacturers' groups HEVAC and the British Refrigeration Association.

With eight months to go, the organisers report that bookings from exhibitors are flowing in. German compressor manufacturer Bitzer is among the latest to confirm a stand, significantly increasing its presence from the 2012 event.

Other confirmed exhibitors include well-known companies such as AFR Refrigeration, A-Gas, AHT, Broughton, Charles Austen Pumps, Comptec, CPS Products, GEA Searle, Dean & Wood, Dupont, Harp International / Mexichem, Honeywell, Gram, JAVAC, Jumo, Lordan, Mastercool, Maxkold, Primalec, Teknic Refrigeration, UR Refrigeration Wholesale.
