LG expects to make ac sales of £3.5 billion in three years time, which it will achieve by boosting its R&D division by 70% and its sales staff by 40%.
The company predicts its sales of commercial ac products will increase from 30% of its total ac sales to 50% by 2010.
LG says it has expanded its market share in commercial air conditioner markets thanks to its high energy-efficiency technology.
The ac manufacturer announced its investment plans include offering 'greener' products and consultancy to customers including the planning, operation, supervision and maintainance of the new systems.
LG has developed Hybrid COGEN, a combined heat and power generator and the Hybrid XEO, an ac system that taps into geothermal energy. LG says the gas fired COGEN uses 32% less energy while also reducing the emission of pollutants such as CO2.
According to a report by BSRIA, 'the world market for air conditioning 2006', the ac market will grow to £32.5bn by 2010.
