The Derby facility offers hands-on training with LG heating systems and user interfaces, giving engineers the opportunity to work directly with equipment in a controlled environment. Heat Pump Central will also deliver nationally recognised BPEC heat pump qualifications, alongside its MCS Umbrella Scheme and fast-track support route to MCS accreditation.
The expansion comes amid rising demand for heat pump installations and ongoing shortages of qualified engineers.
Sachin Vibhute, Technical Consultant and Product Training Manager at LG, said the sector needs sustained attention on installer training, clearer consumer information and long-term policy certainty to maintain progress.
“Heat pumps only deliver efficient heating when systems are correctly specified and installed, which is why training is essential to ensure engineers have the skills needed to deliver reliable performance,” he said.
LG’s UK investment forms part of its wider global programme focused on heat pump research and development, including consortium-led projects in Europe, North America and Asia examining efficiency, reliability and performance in varied climates.
