USA: A leaking acetylene cylinder has now been blamed for an explosion that injured two people in Jersey City last week.
The leaking cylinder was reportedly in the boot of a Toyota car belonging to a man who had been working on a refrigeration unit at a nearby delicatessen. The explosion, which also injured a passerby, is said to have occurred when he opened the boot of the car.
Just before Christmas 2011 two refrigeration engineers died in separate incidents in Australia following explosions within their vans carrying oxy-acetylene cylinders.
