Kooltech builds on sustainability drive with new CIBSE patrons chair hire

Kooltech has appointed Scott Mason as its new head of sustainability as the company develops its range of low carbon heating solutions.

Mr Mason, who became the youngest Chair of CIBSE Patrons in July 2021, joins Kooltech on a full-time basis as part of the company’s plans to meet increasing demand for sustainable solutions. He joins Kooltech from the smart energy consultancy Mesh Group and has previously worked at commercial heat pump manufacturers Lochvinar and Adveco. He will continue in his capacity as CIBSE Patrons Chair.

With a proven record of working within the HVAC industry, Mr Mason’s recent appointment demonstrates the company’s aim of expanding its recruitment and retention of the next generation of sustainable built environment professionals. Kooltech hopes to play an influential role in driving the decarbonisation of the UK’s commercial and domestic building stock.

Jonathan Brown, commercial director of Kooltech, said: “Scott joins us at an incredibly exciting time. Kooltech is experiencing strong growth and reaching new customers from across the sector and the UK. Scott’s appointment reflects Kooltech’s desire and ambition to become the go-to provider of sustainable heating and cooling solutions across the built environment.”

Mr Mason said: “The net zero agenda represents an historic challenge and opportunity for our industry. Kooltech’s reputation as one of the UK’s most experienced air conditioning, sustainable heating and climate specialists means the company is primed to grow its business and play an even bigger role in the decarbonisation drive. I hope my experience will help Kooltech forge the next chapter in its already impressive history.”

Kooltech is also set to open a new branch in Bar Hill near Cambridge, creating several new jobs in the area. The new branch is intended to help accelerate businesses’ transition to sustainable heating and net zero in the East Anglia region.

At the start of the year, Kooltech announced the signing of an agreement with the Wolseley Group to buy the entirety of the Kooltech business. The deal is expected to complete in mid-2023. Following completion, Kooltech will operate as a standalone business within the Wolseley Group.
