High impact reforestation program - Nicaragua.
In the UK businesses account for 85% of total emissions, making corporate action the highest priority in terms of helping stop climate change.
'We believe it is important that we take responsibility for the impact our business has on the environment, do our bit to tackle climate change and to grow the business sustainably into the future,' said a Kooltech spokesperson. 'We have fully offset our carbon footprint by investing in Woodland projects around the world and locally within the UK, removing CO2 from the atmosphere.'
These projects are Verra – Verified Carbon Standard (VCS), Gold Standard – Voluntary Emission Reductions (VER) projects and United Nations – Certified Emission Reduction (CER) projects which are three of the most regulated offsetting standards in the world. These standards ensure all measurements, and tonnes of CO²e are accurate, and verified.
Kooltech's carbon footprint has been calculated following the ISO 14064 and the GHG Emissions Protocol Accounting Standard, the two largest and most recognised methods for carbon footprint calculation in the world. These calculations include direct emissions from Kooltech delivery vehicles, indirect emissions such as electricity and gas usage, staff working from home, business travel, staff commuting and waste etc., ensuring that all business activities and deliveries are fully offset and carbon neutral.
Completing the process of calculating the company's carbon footprint will help it manage emissions for the present and the future. Kooltech's goal is to not just offset, but also reduce emissions wherever possible.
