Cambridge-based building services company, Kershaw Mechanical Services, has welcomed the New Year with two senior management promotions.

The moves will see Luke Ashton take on the role of managing director for Kershaw Mechanical Services, with Andrew Saunders becoming operations director for the business.

Mr Ashton joined the company in January 2018 as operations director and has over 25 years’ experience in the industry. He has held a number of senior roles with national contractors and will use his knowledge of the industry to drive Kershaw’s ambitious growth plans.

He commented: “I am delighted to be taking the reins of one of the leading m&e building services companies in the country. Moving forward, my role will be to ensure we continue to deliver a high level of service to our customers, whilst delivering on a profitable business plan.”

“I look forward to working closely with Andrew in his new role, alongside the rest of the management team to enable us to reach and exceed our targets for 2019 and beyond.”

Mr Saunders has been employed with Kershaw since 1988, and is expected to use his previous experience as contracts manager to oversee the company’s operations. He will call upon his knowledge of main contractors to establish future contract opportunities, while nurturing existing main contractor relationships.

He said: “I am immensely proud to be able to represent Kershaw Mechanical Services as operations director. I have a long history with the company and I am looking forward to using my experience to help reach our business goals, whilst securing the company’s ongoing success.”

The changes in the senior management team have enabled Gary Smith, who successfully managed Kershaw Mechanical Services for the past 11 years, to bring his experience and support to Group operations including insulation, service and maintenance and T R Freeman.
