Johnson sells Bristol compressor business

JOHNSON Controls has finally sold the Bristol compressor business it acquired along with York International last year. The Virginia-based manufacturer has been acquired by KPS Capital Partners for an undisclosed sum.
KPS' newly formed affiliate will be called Bristol Compressors International, Inc.

Bristol compressors are sold in more than fifty countries around the world.
Rick Izor, Bristol ceo, commented, 'This transaction marks the beginning of a new era for Bristol, with a new owner that has a track record of elevating good companies to achieve world-class operating performance.'
