Jet Environmental and Coventry University are set to present their collaborative research into the design and implementation of advanced energy efficient control of heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.?

Undertaken through the Knowledge Exchange Enterprise Network the research continues to develop adaptive self learning controls for optimum performance with the lowest energy consumption.

Leaders from the project will speak about increased energy costs and environmental concerns. Together, these issues highlight the need maximise the energy efficiency of existing and newly installed HVAC systems. Through technical design, new systems can cost up to 30 per cent less to run than alternatives, while ensuring consistent temperatures in large volume, open plan, industrial and commercial buildings.

Jet Environmental has proven expertise in the design of bespoke HVAC systems. The company has invested in intelligent supervisory control systems that create the right temperature conditions at the lowest possible operating cost.

Managing director of Jet Environmental, Jason Hibbs (pictured above right), said: “We’ve enjoyed being part of this research for the KEEN project. The findings will interest businesses up and down the country. Making businesses more efficient and helping the environment is what we do at Jet Environmental, so we’re looking forward to sharing some astonishing new insights at Coventry’s Techno Centre.”

The theoretical development and proof of concept stage of the research was concluded by Aleksandra Oswiecinska, KEEN project affiliate, as part of her dissertation for the MSc course in European Systems and Control at Coventry University. The project has been awarded an Industrial Advisory Board Prize for a best industrial based research project.

Speakers at the Jet Environmental KEEN project champagne reception will include: Professor Keith Burnham, director of Control Theory and Applications Centre (CTAC), Dr Ivan Zajic, lecturer in adaptive control at Coventry University and Dr Shuli Liu, lecturer in building service engineering at Coventry University.
