J & E HALL, a global supplier in refrigeration, has joined the SAFEcontractor scheme, which is designed to help the industry improve its safety record.
The firm has received accreditation from SAFEcontractor, which recognises high standards of health and safety practice in the building services’ industry.
Under the SAFEcontractor system, businesses undergo a vetting process including an examination of health and safety procedures and track record for safe practice. Companies meeting the high standard are included on a database, accessible to registered users only via a website, www.safecontractor.com
Businesses signing up to the scheme can access the database, enabling them to vet potential contractors before they set foot on site. These employers agree that, as users of the scheme, they will engage only those who have received accreditation.
More than 80 major businesses nationwide, from several key sectors, have signed up to use the SAFEcontractor scheme when selecting suppliers for services such as maintenance, refurbishment, building, electrical and mechanical work.
J & E Hall health and safety manager Andy Bowden said: “We are delighted to receive this accreditation. Good health and safety practice is of paramount importance to J & E Hall. We work hard at Halls to maintain high standards of health and safety. SAFEcontractor accreditation will support this, enhance J & E Hall’s ability to attract new business and maintain our reputation for providing a first class service to our customers.”
