THE IOR (Institute of Refrigeration) has launched a new service to help acr industry professionals reduce refrigerant leaks.
The new year release of the REAL Zero service offers technical assistance to all those involved in purchasing, designing, installing, servicing, maintaining and owning refrigeration equipment. To achieve reductions in refrigerant leakage and measure the benefits for free, you can visit
www.realzero.org.uk/
There are five guides available online:
· A pocket guide to good leak testing for service engineers
· Illustrated guide to 13 common leaks for service engineers
· Designing out leaks? -design standards and practices for designers and specifiers
· Leakage matters? -the equipment owner's responsibilities
· Leakage matters? -the service and maintenance contractor's responsibilities
Two tools to measure the carbon and financial costs linked to leakage are also available:
· A carbon cost calculator to produce an evaluation of costs based on available data
· A monitoring spreadsheet for use by contractors and end users to track refrigerant use.
The IOR says this service will be followed up with training material for acr engineers to help them add leakage reduction advising and auditing skills to the range of services available to equipment owners. To take part in the IOR's online training surveys click the relevant link below:
