Andrew Channon FInstR and Richard Lawton FInstR.
The new IOR Fellows for 2026 are:
Andrew Channon FInstR
Channon, the founder of his own training company, has worked with City & Guilds to develop and enhance several of their previous courses. His training centre was among the first in the country to adopt the new Trailblazer Apprenticeships. A committed supporter of the IOR, Channon plans to continue contributing his expertise in training and education as part of his role as a Fellow, offering guidance and support wherever it is needed.
Richard Lawton FInstR
Lawton, a long-standing member of the UN Technical Options Committee and Convenor for TC104 Refrigerated Containers, is well known within the RACHP community for his work at Cambridge Refrigeration Technology. He has authored several papers for the IOR and has been active in IIR committees, notably as President of Commission D of the IIR, and in the IOR’s International Committee work. His contributions also extend to the International Cold Chain Conferences, where he has been a regular and valued contributor.
Fellows are regularly invited to contribute to IOR initiatives, whether by giving talks to share their expertise with members or by participating in working groups and committees. You can expect to hear more from our newly appointed Fellows over the coming months.
Each February, the IOR Membership Committee reviews Fellow nominations, assessing detailed personal statements and letters of support from sponsors. For further information about IOR activities, membership, and the Fellow nomination process, visit www.ior.org.uk/membership.
