Ingersoll Rand has inaugurated its new state-of-the-art facility for manufacturing, light assembly and distribution of Trane and Thermo King climate control systems in Ovcáry-Kolín, in the Czech Republic.
The new site replaces the operations of the downtown-Kolín manufacturing facility, which has been in use since 1992, and will continue the production of Thermo King and Trane products.
The facility manufactures Thermo King air conditioning units for bus and rail transportation vehicles for customers worldwide. In addition, Trane water terminals and small to medium-sized chillers for commercial heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems are produced there.
Built on 90,000sq m of land in Ovcáry-Kolín, the site consists of 25,000sq m of production and warehouse areas and more than 3,400sq m of office space. An additional 5,000sq m is available for future expansion.
Ingersoll Rand says its new facility demonstrates its commitment to building sustainable facilities and decreasing its environmental footprint. It incorporates a number of sustainability features to optimise energy efficiency, water use and waste disposal while also ensuring employee comfort.
Jeff Greene, vice president, integrated supply chain for Ingersoll Rand, said: “Ingersoll Rand has been a proud citizen of Kolín for more than two decades and with this new facility we continue to strengthen our operations in the region.”
In the Czech Republic Ingersoll Rand currently has production plants in Kolín, Unicov and the Engineering and Technology Center in Prague Hostivice.
