HVAC Engineer

Abbott Diabetes Care designs, develops and manufactures leading-edge glucose monitoring systems and test strips for use in both home and hospital settings, and we have recently launched a new system that will revolutionise how people with diabetes around the world monitor their glucose levels. Our Centre of Excellence in Witney for the manufacture of test strips and biosensors used by patients and healthcare professionals for the day-to-day management of diabetes.

As a result of strong business growth, industry-leading product development in the biosensor business and a long-term commitment to high volume manufacturing in our Witney Centre of Excellence, we have an exciting opportunity for a HVAC Engineer to join our site based Facilities Engineering team.

You will be responsible for service and maintenance of a range of Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning plant and equipment used to control the manufacturing and support area environments of the facility to close temperature and humidity specifications. You will be required to work un-supervised and complete all work tasks in a timely manner, working safely with specific precoders for tasks and documenting all worked carried out an electronic PC based maintenance reporting system. You will also be required to attend site outside normal workings hours as part of an emergency call out rota.

To be successful you will have served a recognised apprentice within the building services industry and hold the relevant City& Guilds, BTEC or National Diploma qualifications. You will bring a breadth of experience with knowledge of HVAC systems, plant and components, and good general knowledge of all building services mechanical systems. We are looking for someone who is ambitious, highly organised and excited about joining a team at the forefront of Diabetes Care innovation. The ideal candidate will be a proactive individual who takes initiative and is able to work within a small team, but interactive on a wider business scale. You will need to have excellent communication and time management skills, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environment.
