Hospital's failing fridges cause a stink

FAILING fridges are causing a stink at Eastbourne District General Hospital because the mortuary fridges storing bodies keep breaking down.
The fridges failed an increasing number of times in the last two years.

Hospital chiefs say they recognise they urgently must replace the refrigeration equipment, which is over 15 years old.

A spokesman for the hospital said 'The motors in the fridges have been fixed. There is no problem at the moment. We recognise there is a need to replace the old storage units. There are plans in place to replace all the storage units'.
