EFFECTIVE from the new year, Thermofrost Cryo Plc has been appointed as a stocking distributor of Hitachi split system and VRF equipment.
In operation since 1972, Thermofrost Cryo will cover the UK from its branches in Manchester, Birmingham and London and offers acr capital equipment and all ancillaries.

Hitachi Air Conditioning said 'The Thermofrost Cryo business model fulfills a clear objective for Hitachi by offering a premium logistics and technical support service to the contractor'.

The move is one of the changes Hitachi is making to its UK distribution network for its range of DX split system and VRF equipment.

Walter Meier (Climate UK) is the UK distributor for the Hitachi Samurai chiller range. Walter Meier is focusing its sales operation on the applied chiller market and Hitachi says Walter Meier will continue to supply Hitachi split or VRF equipment, where it forms part of a larger applied project.

SWM Distribution, the UK distributor of Hitachi DX split and VRF equipment went into administration late last year and Hitachi says it 'will continue to directly support any product supplied by either SWM or Walter Meier (Climate UK) Ltd'.

As previously reported, Hitachi recently brought Freedom Air Conditioning into its nationwide distributor/dealer network. Servicing the South East, Freedom Air Conditioning joins the existing Hitachi split system and VRF dealers and distributors, Cooling & Heating Sales ; Hawco Refrigeration; Inside Air ; Logicool Air Conditioning Distribution ; PACAIR and Ultimate Air Ltd.

In a statement, Hitachi said 'Hitachi are firmly committed to distribution as a long term route to market, and for 2009 have new marketing initiatives in place with all dealers and distributors to further strengthen the Hitachi offering and presence in the market'.
