Hampshire Refrigeration Society to host Technical Breakfast Briefing

Following the success of its previous programme of Technical Breakfast Briefings, the Hampshire Refrigeration Society is inviting guests to a repeat event on Tuesday 06 March.

After an introduction by Hampshire Refrigeration Society (HRS) chairman John Emm, attendees will receive the opportunity to hear from a range of speakers. 

The full programme for the Technical Breakfast Briefing, which will commence at 08:30am with tea and bacon rolls upon arrival, is as follows:

The Institute of Refrigeration: What is the IOR, what does it do, how can it help its members, what is in it for you? How can you join?

Dennis Jones of BOC Gases will present his views of the ever-changing refrigerant situation, including: GWP values of HFC refrigerants, high GWP use restrictions, GWP values of new HFO refrigerants, TEWI, gas applications, flammability and availability.

Conex Bänninger and the 'Press Revolution', presented by Zoheb Khamker

The flame free press-fit solution which eliminates the requirement for hot work permits and also removes the use of nitrogen purging. The HVAC & Refrigeration Show saw a huge amount of interest in this product at the Conex Bänninger stand. 

'The Cost of Quality' presented by Bitzer UK  managing director Kevin Glass F.Inst.R    

Kevin will be weighing up the differences between and the benefits of original products, compared to 'copy-cat' parts.

Presentations will be followed by an open forum for discussion.

All those interested are welcome to attend the briefing, which will take place at the HRP Fareham branch at Unit 2, The IO Centre, Stephenson Road, Fareham, Hampshire, PO15 5RU.

Future briefings will include CO2, air conditioning troubleshooting, Samsung and Advanced Engineering. If potential guests have additional topics they are keen to discuss, they should inform the HRS using the contact details provided.

Damian Wiszniewski M.Inst.R  of HRP has joined the Hampshire Refrigeration Society’s committee, focusing on the events side of the society. He has been instrumental in organising the planned programme of Technical Breakfast Briefings during 2018.

Mr Wiszniewski has replaced Christina Taliadoros, who now works for Wolseley. Chairman John Emm praised her support and enthusiasm during her last three years on the committee.
