Haier appoints new distributor
[firstParagraph]
HAIER, the Chinese air conditioning manufacturer, has
appointed Portsmouth-based Hushon as its fourth
distributor in the UK. Hushon joins a network that
includes BSS, Kooltech and NRW. The company also
distributes Hitecsa air conditioning products, Danvent
air handling systems and, until recently, was a
distributor of LG air conditioners.
'Haiers range fits perfectly with our existing product offerings,' said Hushon's Ben Johnstone. 'I don't think
members of the UK industry have fully appreciated yet the breadth and depth of what is being manufactured in China. We are convinced that over the next five-year period the UK market will be dominated by Chinese manufactured equipment and that is why we feel an association with Haier, the leading brand in China, is essential for our future growth. Much has been
reported about the speed at which the economy is growing over there, but even I was astonished at the full extent and quality of what Haier is capable of producing.'
Haier claims to have supplied 8% of the total European commercial and residential air conditioning market last year and exported over 1.2 million air conditioning units an increase of 44% on the previous year. Total worldwide turnover is £6.4bn.
'In today's confused air conditioning market it is vital that manufacturers align themselves with strong strategic sales channel partners,' said Haier UK managing director Ted Berry. 'These partners will add value and have the vision to see beyond yesterday and today.
'Hushon has all the ticks in the right boxes and it is a major coup for us to have them on board,' commented Haier UK managing director Ted Berry. 'Haier can only benefit from having Hushon as its latest distribution partner.'
Haier products will be available from Hushon as of May 9.
